All students are expected to practice at least 20 minutes, 3-4 times per week. Time expectations will lengthen as student advances in skill and knowledge.
Students are always welcome to bring music they are working on for school or other out of studio events. Music suggestions will be taken from students, I find it very usefully to do things they enjoy.
Vocal: I am classically trained and have widely studied Italian Opera and European Art Song. Students will be exposed to classic as well as modern styles including Broadway & Popular music. I am more than willing to work with students on the style of vocal music they prefer.
Instrument: I have 30 years of combined experience studying piano, flute, and oboe. I am also comfortable teaching other instruments including clarinet & guitar.
I would kindly ask, in the event of an illness or emergency, that you would let me know as soon as you are able so we can reschedule your lesson. If you are unable to be at a lesson due to school or extracurricular activities you are expected to let me know at least 2 weeks in advance. If you miss a lesson altogether without any effort to contact me you will still be charged for the full amount of that lesson.
Before committing to lessons, it is important you have the right fit. If you’re not sure about lessons we can take one week get to know each other and figure out if this is something both myself and the student would like to continue.
Visitors are welcome to sit in on a lesson, however, this will only be permitted with the student’s permission.
Referrals are always welcome! Once the student you have referred has finished 4 weeks of lessons, you will receive one free lesson.
